Rockford Principal's Corner - April 23, 2019

Dear Friends of Rockford Christian:

One of the responsibilities I have is to regularly report to the GRCS Board of Trustees on the activities we do at RCS. At the end of May, I will be reporting on this year's school theme at RCS:

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."

Hebrews 6:19a

During this past week, I was encouraged by how this is articulated at RCS. Last week Friday we gathered as a school for the last half hour of the day to worship our Savior in word and in song.  As we sang and listened, I was grateful for the consistent involvement and leadership that the Rockford staff gives to Family Time. Our students get to hear and see our staff expressing their joy in faith in our Savior. To worship as a community is a blessing.

On another occasion, we had a guest worship director for Family Time. We traditionally stand for singing, but on this occasion, the guest worship director did not invite us to stand. After going half way through the first song, I observed that throughout the student body several students were standing. Not everyone stood up right away but these few stood firm and secure while singing. Soon we all joined them. It was a sweet moment.
