Dear Rockford Christian School Families,
Our Theme: "Sing a New Song"
Each new school year brings with it a sense of anticipation—fresh starts, new rhythms, and the quiet hope of what is to come. Our theme for the 2025–26 school year, "Sing a New Song," invites us into that expectancy. It calls us to approach this year with renewed creativity and open hearts as we delight in what God is doing among us—something fresh, something good, something worth singing about.
Building our Partnership
As we prepare for the year ahead, we want to ensure you have all the information you need to step into this new season with clarity and excitement before our first half-day of school for K-8 on Tuesday, August 19.
Our partnership is key to your child's success. That's why we are starting the year with listening conferences for all K-8 families on Thursday, August 14, and Monday, August 18. These one-on-one meetings between you and your child's teacher provide space to share what you know best—your child. You can expect to hear directly from your child's teacher via email on Friday, August 1, with helpful classroom information, as well as a sign-up for a Listening Conference time.
Back-to-School Events
Our Back-to-School BBQ and Open House is open to all preschool-8th families and will be hosted by our PTO on Monday, August 18. The barbecue will be available between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., and the Open House will run from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Please come out to reconnect with friends, meet folks new to our community, find your teachers, check out classrooms, and share a meal.
We will also be hosting a Classroom Connect on the evening of Monday, September 8. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet with our teachers, learn about classroom routines and expectations, ask questions, and start the year on a positive note.
Additional Information
If you have a Preschooler, be sure to check out the Preschool section of this page for specific information just for you.
Thank you so much for entrusting us with your children and for your continued support. We covet your prayers for the coming year and ask for God's blessing as we seek to prepare effective servants of Christ.
In Him,
Ben Buursma
Principal, Rockford Christian School
