GRCMS Campus News
Meet Us in the Middle
Do you have friends or family who may be interested in learning more about Grand Rapids Christian Middle School? This event is designed for prospective students. Please invite them to attend our next Meet Us in the Middle event happening on Friday, January 24th. Visiting students are able to shadow and see what it's like to be a student at GRCMS for the day.
Prospective parents can find out more about what makes our school such a great place to grow, achieve, and thrive, and then take a tour of the campus.
Registration is required ahead of time so we can match visitors with host students.
To find out more, visit www.grcs.org/events to see the daily schedule and register, or call 616-574-6015 for more information.

Protecting Young Eyes
Parent Presentation on February 4 at 6:30 PM. GRCMS Village Square: Digital Trends 2019-2020 — Equipping Kids to Thrive in an Increasingly Hostile Online World
Preschool-High School parents are invited to attend.
We love technology, and we know kids do, too. This popular presentation will address YouTube (can it be controlled?), social media (our expertise), pornography (let’s talk about it!), gaming addiction (is this a real thing?), screen time (what’s the right amount?), tricky people (stranger danger in the digital age). and so much more.
Participants will leave with a whole list of steps they can implement immediately to better equip their kids to make better online choices. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to hear from internet safety experts.

Middle School Math Competition Results
On a Tuesday afternoon in November, over 80 students at GRCMS voluntarily (or somewhat voluntarily) participated in a rigorous math competition called the AMC 8.
This is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple-choice middle school examination in mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
We are so proud of all of the students who challenged themselves. Special congratulations to our top scorers: Levi Fynewever and Isabella Brady-Peters (top score), Hannah-Grace Wildschut (2nd) and Luke Witte (3rd).
Lost & Found
All lost, but never found items were donated to New 2 You over Christmas break!
Outdoor Recess
Cold weather is here! ❄️
With cold weather and snow, just a reminder to make sure your child comes to school with warm clothing appropriate for being outdoors! Students are still expected to be outside during lunch break.
Preschool and Kindergarten Registration are now open to current families!
We encourage you to register your child as soon as possible to save their seat in either preschool or kindergarten at www.grcs.org/register.
Remember to use the passcode: GRIX2020.
We want to make sure all of our current families and staff have the opportunity to register for preschool and kindergarten before we open registration to new families starting this week.
