Off-Campus Learning
GRCS Response to Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order Closing Schools

GRCS Coronavirus Update — 4.2.20

Dear Parents,

In response to Governor Whitmer’s executive order today, Grand Rapids Christian Schools campuses will remain closed, and off-campus learning will continue for the remainder of the school year.
Please watch this video with an important message from our staff and a recap of the first three weeks of off-campus learning, and please share it with your children.

While we were blessed to have been able to implement our off-campus learning so quickly, and are incredibly grateful for the way everyone has risen to the challenge of off-campus learning, we also acknowledge that it simply doesn’t work the same at all age levels, especially preschool.

For this reason, we will be adjusting preschool tuition for the remainder of the school year. Parents of current preschool students can look for additional information coming in a separate communication. We also realize that this crisis has created varying degrees of financial hardship for some families with students in kindergarten through high school.

Parents may contact the Business Office at if they would like to discuss their family’s personal situation.
As we plan for extending our off-campus learning platform through the remainder of the school year, we want your input as to what has gone well, what hasn’t, and how we can best support your children.  We are firmly committed to making off-campus learning the best it can be for all our students, and your input is vital to informing our plans moving forward.

Off-Campus Learning Survey

Please complete this SURVEY by April 8 to give us feedback on your student(s)’ experience so far and input as to how we can improve.
Grand Rapids Christian Schools administration and staff sincerely thank you in advance for your input and for your continued support and commitment to our schools. This crisis has taught us a powerful truth that as servants of Christ, we are all called to have an impact on our world.

Our commitment to our mission has never been stronger. The best parts of our schools have also been abundantly clear. From starting the day with a prayer to bedtime devotions and story time, our community has stayed connected at so many levels.
Believing that we serve a God who is with us and for us, we have approached this time with faithfulness, resilience, and hope.

Please pray for us, even as we pray for each of you. And together, may we all pray for God’s healing hand to be on our world and that in all we do He may be glorified.
