GRCS Devotional: May 27, 2020

Grand Rapids Christian Schools Spanish Immersion Director and incoming GRCMS interim principal, Sara Seth, shares today's devotional from "Bread for the Resistance: Forty Devotions for Justice People" by Donna Barber, focusing on the idea of sanctuary.

Although the temples, chapels, and cathedrals of the world have provided a sanctuary for the people of God throughout time, the place of refuge or safety we seek is not a space created below ceilings or between walls. Worship is not a form of entertainment for a crowd of religious spectators.  It is the way we remind our souls of who God is and what he has done. During this time of closures — schools, churches, and gathering places — where have been the places that you found sanctuary with God?

I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.
Your ways, God, are holy.
What god is as great as our God?

Psalm 77:11-13
