Identify in Christ.

Grand Rapids Christian High School principal, Brad Mockabee, shares several verses he has been reflecting on.

During this time when many of us have not been able to do many of the things we are used to doing, it's important to remember that our self-worth is not found in the things we do. The Bible reminds us who we truly are and that our identity is in Christ.

Here are some of the scriptures referenced:

  • You are a child of God (1 John 3:2)
  • You are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:14)
  • You are loved (John 15:9)
  • You are protected from the evil one (John 17:15)
  • You are holy through Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19)
  • You are free from darkness (Is 61:1)
  • You are redeemed by the blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18-19)
  • You are forgiven through Christ (Acts 13:39)
  • You are saved (Hebrews 7:25)
  • You are no longer a slave to sin (Romans 6:6)
  • You are an heir of God (Romans 8:16)
  • You are rescued by Jesus (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
  • You are strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:16)
  • You are accepted (Ephesians 1:6)
  • You are chosen (Ephesians 1:4)
  • You are an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)
  • You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
  • You are God’s handiwork (Ephesians 2:10)
